Museum Information

Fukuchiyama City Sato Taisei Memorial Art Museum opened in April, 1990. It mainly exhibits the works of the Japanese painter,Taisei Sato, known as an honorary citizen and recipient of the Cultural Medal. He painted scenes of nature that captured marvelous moments of life. He perfected his own painting method called "Kachofukei-ga (flower,bird,and landscape painting)."

The museum possesses more than 60 paintings and sketches, including 19 works submitted to Nitten (The Japan Fine Arts Exhibition). You can enjoy his art including his early sketches drawn in 1937.

Please come and enjoy contemporary Japanese paintings in the museum located near the corner of the Fukuchiyama Castle.
